 Product Description
Omega-3 Plus provides a high concentration of
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA),
which are long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) of the
omega-3 group. Past studies have reported that these omega-3
fatty acids contained in Omega-3 Plus have a great potential
for improving health, particularly in individuals at risk for
heart disease.
Nutritional Activity
EPA and DHA are required for the production of prostaglandins,
prostacyclines, thromboxanes and leukotrienes. These metabolic
products have powerful biological effects upon smooth muscle
activity, platelet aggregation and inflammation.
Studies have concluded that the omega-3 fatty acids,
particularly EPA and DHA, can be effective prophylaxis for
ischemic heart disease and atherosclerosis. EPA can produce a
dramatic reduction in excessive triglyceride levels and can
also be beneficial in reducing inflammation associated with
arthritis and allergic conditions.
This product contains NO wheat, yeast, soy, alfalfa, milk or
corn allergens and no salt, sugar, starch, wax, hydrogenated
oils, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
